Nuclear Energy! Exaggerated ?

There's lots of hue and cry over the Indo-US Nuclear deal and numerous political implications resulting in deviation of interests from more relevant matters. Of all the interpretations made by our more illustrious fellow citizens, I feel the view that the deal is an indirect approach to exercize control over India's Strategic Nuclear Weapons Programme. India did not sign the NPT! The world is aware that India is breeding new technologies like PHWRs in nuclear science and concerned nations would like to have a look on it!

I feel that India can do without Nuclear Power Plants and is not required to compromise its security per se. Alternative and renewable sources of energy can be nurtured and energy shortfall can be alleviated by intelligent use of electricity by WE,THE PEOPLE
