CAT after CAT

The year was 2006 when I was vacillating between my career prospects; I was already offered a job as a Software Engineer; thus there was minimal pressure to perform; But still I wanted to do something extraordinary. I had already made up my mind to enhance my technical knowledge as I was repentant at missing an IIT. To step further in this regard; I prepared for GATE and secured 94.45 %ile in first try,not bad for a beginner. I resolved to crack it the next year and fulfil my dreams of studying in IIT. But all my near and dear ones advised against my emotionally driven decision. They were convinced I was tailor made for Management. I wasnt. Still I analysed prevailing situations and headed towards a most sought after exam called CAT. There too I lacked in planning according to most of my friends, as I secured an average %ile of 94.63 which could not land me in a good enough college. But I was resolute and wished to join 'only' an IIM. Again, I vied for an unconquered dream and faltered by 2 percentile points to make to an IIT( Ya, I secured 97%ile in next GATE). Thats how it goes, if you are good ; you have to be good enough to make the cut! Now, due to the extended age limit of appearing in CAT, I can politely take CAT after CAT till I enter an IIM(he he). Never matters if it doesnt happen, one always learn something!
