The company I work with has a peculiar strategy of taking its business forward. They call it Blue Ocean Strategy. In simple words, it means extracting business from unconquered areas, maybe using unconventional methods and more often than not; working in unprecedented domains. It brings profits no doubt, but the repercussions does not create any influence. It has proved to be an assured masterstroke to sustain market pressures, but I doubt whether it can create a market leader.
A leader has to surpass all obstacles, which the 'Blue Ocean'(BO) does not allow.
Companies like Infosys,TCS are well-known today because they excelled in the competition. Further, BO demands delving into unknown structure of work, which can be disturbing for employees.
I believe that winning competition win more clients, more than those created by 'BO'.
